Effective date: October 15, 2026
These Rules govern every service listed, requested, promoted, or discussed through JustList. They supplement the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. The examples are not exhaustive. JustList may restrict a service that creates legal, safety, fraud, or operational risk even if it is not named below.
1. Services-only marketplace
- A listing must offer a genuine service the Provider is ready and legally able to perform in the United States.
- Do not list goods, rentals, real estate, jobs, franchises, business opportunities, investment opportunities, donation requests, personal announcements, or requests seeking a Provider.
- Choose the most accurate category. Distinct services may require separate listings. Do not duplicate listings across categories or locations.
- Lead generators, referral sellers, resellers without responsible service personnel, and undisclosed subcontracting networks are prohibited unless JustList expressly enables and labels that business model.
2. Required listing information
- Use the Provider's real professional name or registered business name and an accurate photograph or logo.
- Describe the service, who performs it, material exclusions, service area, delivery mode, availability, and how price is calculated.
- Identify material fees, minimum charges, travel charges, deposits, cancellation terms, recurring charges, and whether tax is included or additional.
- State every license or registration number and related business information that applicable advertising law requires. Keep credentials current and do not imply a broader classification, value limit, entity, worker, project type, or geographic scope than the credential allows.
- Disclose use of subcontractors or referral to another business when material to the Customer's decision.
3. Truthful claims
- Do not claim guaranteed results, guaranteed timing, “best” status, official approval, certification, bonding, insurance, background screening, or licensing without current substantiation.
- Before-and-after content must depict authentic work and must not hide typical limitations. Materially altered or AI-generated illustrative content must be labeled.
- Do not use another person's portfolio, reviews, business name, trade dress, logo, or copyrighted material without permission.
- Do not use keyword stuffing, irrelevant brands, multiple locations where you do not operate, false scarcity, fake discounts, or a low headline price that is not realistically available.
4. Provider legal responsibilities
- The Provider must comply with federal, state, county, and city law applicable to advertising and performing the service.
- The Provider must maintain all required licenses, permits, registrations, bonds, insurance, training, supervision, and records.
- The Provider is responsible for worker classification, payroll, taxes, occupational safety, immigration-related compliance, and subcontractor conduct.
- The Provider must give Customers every required estimate, contract, cancellation notice, disclosure, receipt, warranty, and lien notice.
- JustList approval of a listing is not legal advice and does not confirm that these obligations are satisfied.
5. Prohibited services
The following may not be offered, requested, arranged, or promoted through JustList:
- Illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity: any service that violates law, facilitates evasion, trespass, theft, stalking, hacking, credential theft, counterfeiting, document fraud, violence, or concealment of a crime.
- Sexual services and exploitation: prostitution, escort services, sexual massage, pornography production, sexual entertainment, trafficking, or any sexual service involving or marketed toward minors.
- Weapons and dangerous materials: unlawful weapons work, manufacture or modification of weapons, explosives, poisons, controlled substances, hazardous disposal without required authorization, or training intended to facilitate harm.
- Financial abuse: payday lending, unlicensed lending, money transmission, check cashing, debt elimination, credit repair that violates law, investment or cryptocurrency schemes, gambling, pyramid schemes, or guaranteed-income programs.
- Privacy invasion: unlawful surveillance, tracking, wiretapping, spyware, doxxing, obtaining private records without authority, or bypassing access controls.
- Academic or professional fraud: taking examinations for another person, completing graded work for submission as the Customer's own, falsifying professional records, or impersonating a licensed professional.
- Discrimination: services or listing terms that unlawfully exclude, prefer, or disadvantage people based on a protected characteristic.
- Platform manipulation: fake reviews, purchased engagement, reputation manipulation, scraping, spam, account rental, identity rental, or circumvention of JustList controls.
6. Restricted categories
The following categories are prohibited unless JustList has expressly opened the specific category in the Provider's state and the Provider completes all stated screening or credential steps:
- childcare, babysitting, foster or adoption services, elder care, home health, and services for vulnerable persons;
- medical, dental, pharmacy, therapy, mental-health, addiction-treatment, reproductive-health, veterinary, and other clinical services;
- legal representation, immigration services, tax representation, securities, investment, insurance, lending, mortgage, real-estate brokerage, appraisal, and fiduciary services;
- passenger transportation, commercial delivery, towing, repossession, locksmithing, private security, investigations, and bail-related services;
- construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, structural, environmental-remediation, pesticide, and other work requiring location-specific licensing or permits;
- tattooing, piercing, massage, cosmetology, personal training, nutrition, food preparation, alcohol service, and other health or sanitation-regulated services;
- animal sale, breeding, adoption, boarding, or regulated wildlife services;
- political lobbying, fundraising, campaign services, or paid advocacy; and
- any category JustList identifies as high-risk or not operationally supported.
For supported categories that collect licensing information, the Provider must supply license information or declare that no license is required for the advertised work, and confirm the accuracy of the statement and responsibility for all permissions required to advertise and provide the service. JustList does not routinely check every license before publication. An optional check against the issuing authority is separate from content moderation and is required only to receive the specific “License record checked” label. A declaration, upload, entered number, publication or content approval is not verification by JustList. The Provider must still hold every legally required credential and include the license numbers and disclosures required by applicable advertising law. If the law permits unlicensed advertising only for limited work, the Provider must state and observe those disclosure, scope and value limits.
Availability of a category in the interface does not override law or expand a Provider's authorized scope. A “license not reviewed” warning cannot legalize an otherwise prohibited advertisement.
7. Photos, video, and portfolio
- Media must be relevant, lawful, and clear enough to avoid misleading Customers.
- Obtain permission before showing a Customer, worker, minor, home interior, address, license plate, document, or other identifying detail.
- Do not include graphic injury, unsafe conduct presented as acceptable practice, nudity, hate symbols used to promote hatred, watermarked stolen media, contact information intended to evade Platform controls, or malicious links.
- Stock, manufacturer, or illustrative media must be labeled and must not be the sole basis for implying work the Provider completed.
8. Pricing and payment statements
- A displayed fixed price must be genuinely available for the described scope. An “estimate,” “starting at,” hourly rate, unit rate, or custom quote must be labeled.
- Do not request payment-card details, bank credentials, one-time codes, or sensitive identifiers through JustList messages.
- Do not represent that JustList holds, protects, guarantees, refunds, or releases Provider payments. Provider-service payments occur outside JustList.
- Deposits and cancellation fees must comply with applicable law and the Provider's written agreement with the Customer.
9. Contact information and service area
- Use Platform fields for contact details. Do not place sensitive personal information in titles, descriptions, or media.
- List only areas the Provider actually serves. Do not create a false local presence, virtual office, or unrelated address to manipulate search.
- Use a service area rather than a residence address unless publishing an exact commercial location is necessary and intentional.
10. Moderation and enforcement
JustList may request documents, limit distribution, change category, reject, pause, remove, or require edits to a listing. Payment does not guarantee approval or continued publication. We may restrict or close accounts for serious, repeated, or coordinated violations. Email [email protected] to report a listing or appeal an eligible decision.
