JustList is a services-only marketplace. A category appearing in search, a menu, or this document does not mean that every service in that category is lawful, available, verified, or supported in every location. The categories and geographic limits shown in the live listing form control what may be submitted at a given time.
1. Generally supported service groups
Subject to local law, Platform availability, and the Service Listing Rules, JustList may support lower-risk services such as:
- home cleaning, organizing, window cleaning, pressure washing, and ordinary property maintenance;
- painting, furniture assembly, mounting, minor handyman work, and other work that does not require an unavailable professional license or permit;
- lawn care, landscaping maintenance, snow removal, and ordinary outdoor cleanup;
- junk removal, packing assistance, and locally permitted moving support;
- photography, videography, design, technology setup, device repair, and business support;
- event planning, entertainment, decoration, and related event services; and
- tutoring, music or language instruction, and other non-clinical educational services.
2. Restricted or location-dependent categories
JustList may decline, limit, or require additional review for a category involving licensing, insurance, permits, vulnerable people, health or safety, transportation, custody of property, or state-specific advertising rules. Examples include:
- plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, structural work, general contracting, mold or asbestos work, pest control, locksmithing, tree work, and other regulated trades;
- towing, passenger transport, commercial moving, vehicle repair, and work requiring a regulated vehicle or operator;
- food preparation or catering, cosmetology or beauty services, fitness instruction, animal care or boarding, and any activity subject to a health, facility, or professional license;
- tax, accounting, financial, real-estate, appraisal, mortgage, legal, or other professional services; and
- services performed in occupied homes, involving minors or dependent adults, or otherwise requiring background checks, bonds, special insurance, or safeguarding controls.
A Provider may list a restricted category only when the live Platform enables it for the Provider's service area and the Provider satisfies every applicable requirement. Where the state/category matrix identifies a license required to advertise, solicit, bid, or perform the service, JustList will require the license number, issuing authority, holder, type or classification, jurisdiction, status, and expiration information and will complete the stated authority-record check before publication. Insurance or additional credential evidence may also be required. These checks do not guarantee the Provider or the work.
3. Prohibited categories
The following are not supported: illegal services; sexual or adult services; dating or companionship; exploitation or trafficking; weapons-related services; controlled-substance services; unlicensed medical, mental-health, addiction-treatment, or professional practice; payday lending, wire-transfer, pawn, or investment schemes; pyramid or multi-level marketing; political influence for hire; academic cheating; surveillance, hacking, credential theft, or evasion of security controls; fraudulent documents; discrimination; and any category prohibited in the Service Listing Rules and Prohibited Services.
Until JustList adopts category-specific safeguards, it also prohibits childcare, elder or dependent-adult care, medical or clinical care, adoption or breeding services, and passenger transportation. Job postings, real-property listings, goods for sale, and requests seeking a Provider are not service listings.
4. Provider responsibility
- The Provider—not JustList—must determine whether a license, registration, bond, insurance policy, permit, written contract, cancellation notice, tax registration, background check, or other requirement applies.
- Category placement is administrative. It is not legal advice, a license determination, an endorsement, a referral, a warranty, or a representation that the Provider may lawfully perform the service.
- A Provider must not split, rename, or miscategorize a service to avoid a restriction. Materially different services should use separate listings where permitted.
5. Changes and questions
JustList may add, remove, or geographically limit categories as laws, safety controls, and product capabilities change. Existing listings may be paused or removed after a category change. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
